Gilbert graduated from High School in 2018 with a Series C Baccalaureate focusing on mathematics and physical sciences. He enrolled at the University of Dschang in Fall 2018, where he is currently pursuing his studies in Sciences and Technologies with Mathematics as major.
When Binam-AZ approached Tessa to ask him how he would use his scholarship award, he mentioned the following:
- Immediately pay the balance of his college registration fees because students are automatically suspended if they don’t meet the payment deadline
- Purchase books and other school supplies
- Purchase internet access as many subjects require online research to complement content taught in the classroom
- Register for English language classes. Many classes are only offered in French even though all Cameroonians are expected to be bilingual.
